A visit to Steinway Lyngdorf’s stunning demo facilities was long overdue, and Adam went down this week to get hands on with some very special kit indeed.
We carry the full range of Lyngdorf products instore - offering them as solutions when Clients have specific room issues, as the proprietary RoomPerfect helps your speakers sound their best in any given space.
Think of Steinway as Lyngdorf’s bigger brother. Pinnacle products, focussing on getting the best out of your music while adding to the environment they are placed.
If you are looking for visually stunning speaker systems, offering true digital amplfiication, great control, effortless scale finished with a great user experience - it would be well worth considering Steinway’s approach.

Calibration isn’t just for home cinema…
Calibration has been a mainstay in cinema installations for years now, and really does make a huge difference to performance at home. We travel the length and breadth of the UK, France and Ireland calibrating systems with great results.
However, calibration in 2-channel systems is relatively unheard of - no pun intended.
RoomPerfect is Lyngdorf’s proprietary calibration software. It is built into all of their integrated amplifiers and processors. Incredibly user friendly, with the ability to help your speakers maintain their unique sonic signature, while working WITH the room, not against it.
If you have suffered with boomy bass, too lean a presentation or a muddled soundstage; it would be worth demoing what RoomPerfect can achieve.
We recently had a Client come to us needing a solution - they had redecorated, removing their carpet and now had a wooden floor. The bass from their speakers was far boomier and less controlled.
We demonstrated how capable the RoomPerfect technology in the Lyngdorf 2210 amplifier is, and combined with the Client’s speakers, ultimately it was an easy choice - new amplifier purchased. The clarity and detail was still there, but the bass was controlled again, a far fuller sound with no overhang.
Don’t Steinway just make pianos?
Steinway-Lyngdorf was born from the combination of 170 years of Steinway piano construction, and Peter Lyngdorf - the Danish Audiophile and Engineer.
This brainchild came about by the desire to recreate the exact sound of a Steinway & Sons grand piano in any room, anywhere in the world, without having to physically ship the piano there!
Steinway promise ‘to reproduce the sound of a Steinway & Sons grand piano to the degree that even seasoned concert pianists cannot discern the difference.’
Can I buy these beautiful speakers and add them to my system?
Simply put - I’m afraid not.
Steinway-Lyngdorf speakers have been created to work solely with the matching processors and amplication. This closed-system might seem somewhat restrictive, by limiting the electronics available. They don’t connect with regular speaker cables either.
However, by only allowing the speakers to work with their matching electronics, Steinway-Lyngdorf can provide absolute consistency in sound reproduction anywhere in the world - meaning your favourite track, concerto or performance sounds perfect, everytime and in every room.
The processor uses a tailored RoomPerfect system, meaning once you have placed your desired look and scale of speaker in the room, the software gets the best out of the speakers and the room combined. There is no toggling of settings, tweaking of crossovers, or even trying out different speaker cables - you just achieve great sound, every time!

The Process?
So what is the process of getting involved with a Steinway-Lyngdorf solution I hear you ask?
Firstly, reach out to us and discuss what outcome you are trying to reach.
This approach has a great synergy with us here at Yorkshire AV, as we are 'solution focussed’ not simply product-focussed.
If you are looking for a freestanding, on-wall or discrete-solution, let us know and then we will work with you to finalise the electronics and installation. You will need a certain level of matching Steinway processor and amplfication depending on the scale of install.
You can also integrate more than one system into the same property, meaning a cohesive and excellent sounding multi-room audio solution is a potential too - either on day one, or installed at a later date.
