I thought it worthwhile to make a small post on what are routinely asked questions when people are looking into buying the Debut Carbon Evo and/or some of the factory upgrades that have become available this year.
The Debut Carbon Evo turntable from Pro-Ject Audio is superb out of the box but has a number of factory upgrades available - each of which add something new and different to the listening experience of your records.
All of the below are available to buy individually or as a bundle.
#1 - the upgrade to the Ortofon 2M blue stylus adds depth and clarity and more definition in the bass and mid level of the music
#2 - aluminium machined sub-platter provides a unit with significantly more mass and thus lower resonance and greater speed control
#3 - Clamp-IT record clamp allows you to flatten warped records at the edge, reduce the air gap between the vinyl and the platter and aesthetically finishes the top of the record quite nicely
#4 - Acryl-IT acrylic platter - if you’re moving into MC cartridges then this is a must have as the OEM unit will interfere with the sensitive coils in the cartridge. The acrylic platter looks superb especially when lit from behind too and in our experience, has significantly reduced the static pops and clicks on records too.
